Small Change Big Change Launches Australia Wide

After a successful pilot of Small Change Big Change, parent company, Telco Together Foundation has now launched its full suite of corporate impact programs under the new brand.

The pilot, led by Commander (Vocus Group) has now raised more than half a million dollars through their involvement in our on-bill donations and workplace giving alone. So while it’s encouraging to now have the support from Axicom and Aussie Broadband, the time has come to scale the brand to the rest of the industry.

“We cannot thank Commander enough for their patience and commitment to Small Change Big Change, the impact we’ve been able to have on the education and mental health for young Australians is truly inspiring! It’s such a challenging time for all, but the silver lining is that we’re poised and ready to scale this to Australia’s $38bn Telecommunications Industry, comprising ~4000 businesses, >50,000 employees (IBIS World, 2019) and >20m customers (Deloitte, 2019) who continue to show an unwavering Australian spirit.”

Small Change Big Change

On-bill donations has fast become one of our most exciting programs, not just for the impact we’re having with our community partners: ReachOut, Red Dust and Beacon Foundation, but with our telcos too who are pleased with the impact it’s having for both their employee and customer engagement. The program gives customers the opportunity to add a $1 donation to their monthly bill and over time this seemingly small contribution can really add up. It also helps your organisation connect with socially-minded customers and encourages your customer-facing employees to share their passion for a cause which affects all young Australians.

Our purpose is to build resilient young Australians in an increasingly connected world and we have a vision for all young Australians to have access to the education and mental health resources needed to thrive in today’s digital age. This is a renewed cause area for us and has brought a refreshed focus which aligns specifically with four of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG #3 – Good Health & Wellbeing
Ensure the healthy lives (body and mind) and promote wellbeing for all young Australians through online access to digital self-help, early suicide prevention resources and education on the link between substance misuse and chronic disease.
  • SDG #4 – Quality Education
Ensure that all education – primary, secondary, tertiary, cultural, technical and vocational is inclusive and equitable and offers relevant and lifelong education outcomes.
  • SDG #8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth
Reduce youth unemployment in Australia by ensuring a future of full and productive employment and decent work opportunities for all Australians.
  • SDG #9 – Industry & Innovation
Foster and enhance creativity and innovation in thinking, while maintaining traditional core values that help build a resilient and productive future workforce in Australia.

We’ve adapted these goals which will combine to inspire a small change from partners, their leaders, employees and customers alike who want to unite behind a cause that truly impacts all Australians. After all, it’s from your small change, that big change grows.
